Dan Aubin is a man with a purpose and as the new president of the Victor Harbor Gymnastics Club, has a new vision for the club.

With the support of seed funding of $5000 from the City of Victor Harbor and $500 each from the Rotary Clubs of Victor Harbor and Encounter Bay, the Victor Harbor Gymnastics Club is set for a new era.

“The club was going to close if the community was not going to show any interest. Well we have shown some interest and we have a hard working committee to make the club strong again,” Dan Aubin said.

The club has a rich history dating back to the 1940s at the Wonderview on Flinders Parade and over the years the club has had great success developing recreational programs, as well as producing state level competitors.

“We are looking forward to an era of success and we have had guidance from Gymnastics SA and will work with them to create a centre of excellence,” Dan said.

Other than gymnastics there will be innovative programs at the club such as social circus, breakdance, parkour, acrodance and other physical arts. School holiday workshops start on Thursday, July 12, for children as young as 3-17.

Sessions start at 9am and run through to 4pm. To book visit www.daringhumans.com/workshop-tickets

“There is a need for coaches, as safety is so important and a focus for the new committee,” Dan said.
