Myponga-Sellicks kicked with a stiff breeze in the first quarter in their round 12 clash with McLaren Vale and had plenty of forward entries, but were unable to capitalise.

B Merrett  kicked the only goal for the quarter for the Mudlarks, but missed two others and with a other squandered opportunities they were disappointed to go in at quarter time with 1-6. The Eagles on the other hand defended well, led by Lawrie. Dunlop chipped in from his wing to goal.

McLaren had forward entries in the second term and were efficient with Mutton having a good tussle with M Merrett goaling, along with Ellis and Vandaleur to lead at half time 5-7 to Myponga-Sellicks 1-7.

Mathews in the midfield for McLaren continued to cause headaches for the Mudlarks, as again the Eagles scored one single goal to Myponga-Sellicks two. Allen and Carroll in the midfield were fearless in their hard ball gets for the Mudlarks but they still went into the three quarter time break 14 points down.

McLaren goaled early to negate any chance of a Mudlark comeback. Dunlop and Mutton completed their days with two majors each and although B Merrett for the Mudlarks  finished the day with three goals it was not enough as the Eagles ran out easy winners by 22 points retaining their top three position on the ladder.
