Three teams, Langhorne Creek, Mount Compass and McLaren have broken away from the pack to fight for the minor premiership and the first week off in the finals, while Willunga and Encounter Bay are holding off a stoic Victor Harbor from pinching one of their spots in the five.

McLaren are third and two games plus percentage clear of fourth and fifth placed Encounter Bay and Willunga. Only half a game away in sixth is Victor Harbor. Only five rounds to go and every result will have a consequence.

On Saturday, Mount Compass defeated Willunga by 15 points, the Creek defeated Myponga/Sellicks by 35 points, McLaren rolled Strathalbyn by 59 points, Victor Harbor won over Goolwa/Port Elliot by 51 points and the Bays won by 91 points against Yankalilla.

The match of the round is the clash between Encounter Bay and Langhorne Creek and it is time for the Bays to grab a big scalp. If the Bays can win this then they will be certainties to play finals. Lose and they are back in the fight to hold their spot.

Davis-Neale is in red hot form and so is Karpany, but the Hawks are flying. Kellock, Sellar, Derham, Earl, Perrey and Clifford are hard to stop.

Kiss Of Death – Langhorne Creek by 7 points.

Victor Harbor take on Strathalbyn and this is a match the Roos do not want to take lightly. Sam Elliott, Tucker, James, Wright and Christie give their all for the Roosters. Ross is a star for the Roos and a favourite for the Mail Medal and Fletcher and Les Weetra do a lot right.

Kiss Of Death – Victor Harbor by 14 points.

Goolwa/Port Elliot take on McLaren and after the celebration of Steve Kahl’s 300th the boys are confident at McLaren. Harper is growing into one of the best ruckmen in the GSFL for the Magpies and Lawrie will have to be at his best to counter him.

Kiss Of Death – McLaren by 60 points.

Myponga/Sellicks meet Mount Compass and the Dogs have height everywhere. Ellis, Pinyon and Hoban will expose the Mudlarks. Carroll against Veide will be a great match up.

Kiss Of Death – Mount Compass by 19 points.

Yankalilla host Willunga and the Demons love playing teams when they are down. Beath, Boyd, Billy Cook, Williams, Ross and Ficken are all doing their job and the Tigers need helpers for Braendler, Fisher, Shute, Billy Hogben and Laba.

Kiss Of Death – Willunga by 55 points.
