Bet your bottom dollar that Victor Harbor High School’s production will leave you with a grin from ear to ear.
Students from year eight to 12 have put together their own version of Annie, the story of an orphan girl who moves in with a billionaire.
There are four performances at the Victor Harbor Town Hall: three shows at 7.30pm on August 2-4, and a matinee at 2pm on August 4.
Year 12 student Lily is playing the role of orphan Annie, with year 11 Flynn as Mr Warbucks the billionaire.
The pair said putting the musical together has been a challenge, but they are excited for next week’s shows.
It is Flynn’s biggest role in a production to date, and said learning the choreography has been the hardest part as he didn't consider himself a dancer – “far from it”, he said.
Lily said Annie is her equal-favourite character to have played; she was Glinda in Wicked earlier this year.
“I love how enthusiastic and optimistic Annie is. With all the politics today, we need someone like Annie.”
