Three star hockey players from the Yankalilla Hockey Club have been chosen to represent South Australia in the sport later this year.

Coell and Rhun Williams have been selected to represent SA in the Under 12 boys SAPSASA state hockey team at the School Sports Australian Championships to be held in Newcastle from August 12 to 17.

Coell has also been selected in Under 13 Boys State hockey team to play at the Australian Championship held in Hobart from October 4 to 10. Rhun is a shadow player as well.

Vanessa Black has been selected in the SA Masters Over 60 team playing in the National Championship being held in Bunbury and Busselton from September 25 to October 7.

Ms Black said she felt very fortunate.

“I am excited to be going back to where my hockey started as a Junior in Bunbury and where I grew up,” she said. “My original aim was to play in every state. I have achieved that and I am now regarding any further competitions as a bonus.”
