Many choose to travel with Zonta

One hundred and twenty members and guests who attended Zonta’s Travel Light, Travel Bright Fashion Parade, on Friday night at the Lutheran Centre, Victor Harbor were greeted with a glass of bubbly and refreshments on arrival. Violinists Sally Pearce and Judy Fletcher entertained guests during the refreshment breaks.

President Margaret Stephens welcomed invited guests Member for Finniss David Basham and raffle sponsor Jayne Jorgensen, and announced several apologies.

During the first part of the presentation, Marilyn Little from Creata Couture featuring Liz Davenport clothing gave guests fashion and travel tips and show how to pack an incredible amount of coordinated clothing and footwear into a small suitcase and travel bag for a four week overseas trip.

After a supper of cocktail savouries, sweets and chocolates donated by Harbor Chocolates served with tea and coffee, five models including Zontians Joy Yang and Helen Appledore, and guest models Irene Nickole, Belinda Szepessy and Jill Connolly showed a selection of clothing including classic pants and jackets, silk tops and scarves.

A raffle sold leading up to the event was drawn after supper. Prize winners included first prize of return travel for 2 adults and vehicle to Kangaroo Island donated by SeaLink, was won by J Hanak, Yankalilla; second prize, a luxury handbag donated by JJs Bag Boutique Victor Harbor was won by Brenda Mellor; third prize, a Hair Care pamper pack and hair style donated by Sassy, The Art of Hair, Victor Harbor was won by Leanne Pearsons, and fourth prize, a $50 voucher donated by the Hotel Victor was won by Ineke Collins.

A number of guests purchased items after the parade or made appointments for free fashion consultations with Marilyn on the following day. A percentage of all sales will also go to the Zonta club. Profits from the event will go towards Zonta’s International and local projects which support women and girls.
