On Saturday night, after the Dauntless Cup Race, the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club ran a fundraising event to help support the Buy a Bale charity.

Auctioneer Andrew Keach pushed bids high on a range of items as he worked the crowd for some excellent results.

Music and the sound system was provided by Todd Jones and the Kirkbride Duo.

Diners bought and enjoyed over 120 parmigianas prepared by Angie and her band of assistants then they gathered around an open fire on the club’s front lawn.

After a quick count around $4000 was raised, an awesome effort by the GRYC, its members and the people who went out on a beautiful clear night to help fellow Australians in trouble.

The event was sponsored by Goolwa Foodland, TC’s Fruit and Veg, Canvas Sails, DSM Middleton/Victor Harbor, Captain Sturt Boat Supplies, Goolwa Masts and Welding, Annie Harris / Cadbury, DGB paint supplies, Keach Dorper Lamb, Morries fold up tables,  GRYC and Island Floral Designs.

On September 22, the club will be hosting a New Members Night, from 5pm at the clubrooms while on September 29 the Goolwa to Wellington Destination Series Race will start at 8.30am.

An opening day on October 6 will welcome the official 2018-19 season.
