Leading retirement living provider Stockland unveiled a newly renovated community centre at Bay Village Retirement Estate in Victor Harbor on Friday, August 24.

The newly upgraded community centre forms part of a three-year $800,000 village upgrade and features a commercial kitchen to cater for village events, a library, professional services room new audio visual equipment in the lounge and social area, and a new-look reception area and administration offices.

Further village upgrades are still to come, including a new outdoor BBQ and entertainment space with bar to be finalised by the end of the year and a new on-site bowling green to be completed by mid-2020.

Stockland operations manager for SA David Young said the new look community centre has brought a new lease of life to Bay Village, offering more facilities for residents to enjoy and a revitalised shared space for them to meet and socialise in.

“Stockland is committed to designing and developing quality retirement living communities that reflect the changing needs of Australians,” Mr Young said.

“The newly redeveloped community centre here at Bay Village has been specially designed to meet the needs and expectations of today’s retirees.”

“Our residents watched with great enthusiasm as the renovations took place and are very excited to use the new facilities,” she said.

“We expect this new-look community centre will become the heart of the village’s vibrant community.”
