South Adelaide Under 18s are through to the grand final after knocking off Norwood by five points in their Preliminary Final clash on Sunday.
The South Adelaide side has a number of Great Southern Football League youngsters in the side with Job Colwell from Willunga booting three goals and Billy Wade from Victor Harbor sliding through one major.
South started the game well kicking 5.4 point to Norwood's solitary point. When Job Colwell kicked his second for the quarter the Panthers stretched the lead out to 48 points.
Norwood twice showed great character and cut the lead to one point, but South were able to answer. South under 18 coach Mark Clayton said the players showed they could fight for the win and they did.
“It was a great experience and I'm sure the players will get a lot of confidence knowing they can win finals and have now played at Adelaide Oval ahead of next week's grand final,” he said. South will meet the Eagles in the grand final.
