The Times Great Southern Football League 2018 Team of the Year has been selected. Players were nominated by their respective coaches and with a full list of 45 names, the Coach of the Year had the task to pick a final team of 21 players in positions. 

The 2018 GSFL Coach of the Year is McLaren’s Gianni Petrucci, who has guided McLaren from bottom of the ladder in 2017, to a preliminary final this weekend. Petrucci was selected through a voting process by all 10 GSFL coaches.

The team is Full Forward line -  Sean Beath (Willunga), Jordan Mutton (McLaren), Tyson Davis-Neale (Encounter Bay). Half Forward – Ziggy Vitkunas (Mount Compass), Tom Pinyon (Mount Compass), Matt      Dominish (Langhorne Creek). Centre – Curtis Perrey (captain Langhorne Creek), Michael Ross (Victor Harbor), Billy Cook (Willunga). Half Back – Jake Veide (Mount Compass), Tom Derham (Langhorne Creek),  Matthew Merrett (Myponga/Sellicks). Full Back – Rigby Barnes (Encounter Bay), Matt Ficken (Willunga),         Kiefver Zohar (McLaren). Ruck – Peter Hoban (Mount Compass), Jarrod Kellock (Langhorne Creek),             Brett Ellis (vice captain McLaren). Interchange – James Sellar (Langhorne Creek), Marc Elliott (Strathalbyn),  Lachlan Matthews (McLaren).

Petrucci said “It was a very tough task and players were unlucky.
