Rock n Roll Festival is on in Victor Harbor this weekend September 15 and 16

Victor Harbor will be the place to be this weekend as the 11th annual Rock n Roll Festival takes to the streets. The festival, hosted by the City of Victor Harbor begins on Friday with a vehicle display and rock n roll juke box in McDonald's car park from 10am until 1pm.

Both Saturday and Sunday will feature live bands, entertainment, market stalls as well as classic, hot rod, custom and muscle car displays and plenty of dancing in the streets.

Two stages with continuous live bands playing throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday will be set up in Warland Reserve and on the corner of Ocean and Coral streets. Dance floors will be positioned in front of the stages.

The annual festival attracts 50's and 60's music lovers from right around the country  as well as classic car enthusiasts who converge on the city to get up close and personal with over 600 vehicles that will be on display.

A Festival Cruise comprising of classic vehicles will leave McLaren Vale at 9.30am on Saturday morning and wind its way through to Victor Harbor arriving later in the morning and this year a local twilight cruise will take place from 4pm on the Saturday

The live entertainment kicks off at 11am on Saturday and Sunday and this year rock and roll lovers can continue to party into the evening with more live bands playing from 7.30pm Friday and Saturday nights in a heated marquee on Warland Reserve. This is a ticketed event and patrons can purchase a VIP pass for $20 for Friday and Saturday night's entertainment from the Information Centre or from the website  www.rocknrollfestival.com.au 

Bands appearing during the Festival this year include the Memphis Suns, The Runaway Boys, The Silverados, Lefty Roulette and the Joint Jumpin' Hepcats, The Shakers and The Cadillacs  along with the Rock n Roll Radio Hits, the Rhythm Cats, Puffin Billy and solo acts Billy Guy and Peter Tilbrook.
