NEW YEAR: The Sailing Club is set to return to Victor Harbor's foreshore after a successful 2017.

Adelaide rap star Tkay Maidza will be taking the stage at the popular New Year’s event, The Sailing Club, at Victor Harbor this year.

After 2017 proved to be a titanic-sized success with record crowds, The Sailing Club will cruise back to the foreshore of Victor Harbor for its annual summer food, wine and music festival.

Three days of festivities at the Soldiers Memorial Gardens will kick off on December 29 and finish up in the early hours of the New Year on January 1.

The three days of festivities will commence at the Soldiers Memorial Gardens on December 29 and wrap up in the early hours of January 1.

Tkay Maidza will perform on day one of the event, while on day two, there is more of a focus on being a pet-friendly family fun day with activities and entertainment for children of all ages.

On day three – New Year’s Eve – more live music will be part of the celebrations, and of course there will be fireworks to ring in 2019.

Co-founder Sam Worrall-Thompson said this year would be bigger and better than ever on the food and drink front.

He said a great selection of South Australian food trucks and mobile bars would be set up, and Tim Adams would pour the vino all weekend long.

“We really wanted to give back to the community and support local. We’re using a range of local producers and suppliers, from Fleurieu cheese on Graze and Gather’s boards to the sparky who helps us set up,” Mr Worrall-Thompson said.

“We’re also donating $1 from every New Year’s Eve ticket sold to the local Victor Harbor RSL.”

The City of Victor Harbor supported this year’s event after seeing the benefits the influx of festivalgoers brought to the local economy.

Mr Worrall-Thompson said the council’s support for the Sailing Club would help secure the site again next year.

There is a VIP experience available with a private two-metre high deck which overlooks the sea and main stage.

It has its own private bar, catering and pop-up restaurant.

General admission tickets start at $15, head to for more information and ticketing.
