It’s official: former Victor Harbor Football Club player Nathan Kreuger will become a Cat in 2019. According to AFL Media’s Lee Gaskin, Geelong secured Kreuger in an exchange for Geelong’s third-round pick (pick 42) in a deal with Carlton as a pre-selected state-league player. Although a number of Great Southern Football League players have been rookie listed, 19-year-old Kreuger is the first to be drafted since Ryan Griffen went to Western Bulldogs in 2006. He was a hopeful for last year’s rookie draft but the 196cm, 88kg half forward was overlooked, and played a solid season as number 16 at the South Adelaide Football Club this year – his first season in the senior side. His winning skills are a great natural leap, incredible agility and a strong and accurate left foot kick.
