On Sunday, October 21 the Granite Community Band will welcome the Onkaparinga City Concert Band to Victor Harbor for a special concert.
The Onkaparinga City Concert Band boasts a 42-year history of serving the southern community and share similar values to the Granite Community Band of inclusivity, community and a love of music. They recently won first place in the open B Grade Concert section of the State Band Championships.
Granite Community Band will open the concert, followed by the Onkaparinga City Concert Band, and the bands combine to bring a finale of three pieces.
“It is again a pleasure to welcome a visiting band from Adelaide. It provides both bands the opportunity to interact and play together plus gives our local community the opportunity to come and listen to some top-class musicians without the need to travel to Adelaide,” Granite Band president Bill Lowe said.
The concert will be at the Lutheran Church Centre, Adelaide Road Victor Harbor. Doors open 2pm for a 2.30pm start. All tickets are $10 from RAA Victor Harbor or at the door.
