More than $10,000 was raised for the Leukaemia Foundation through the second annual Light the Night event in Victor Harbor.

Event organiser Helen Irvine said about 330 people took part in the walk from Warland Reserve, over the causeway to Granite Island and back on Friday, October 5.

“I think it looked beautiful when we’re walking together and thinking about blood cancers,” she said.

“It’s to bring the community together and share more information about the Leukaemia Foundation, stem cell donations and blood donations.”

Ms Irvine congratulated the top fundraisers – Veronica Jones-Ingram ($850), Nicole Cousins ($650), and Jaye Cousins ($350).

She thanked the community for their support of the only Light the Night on the southern side of Adelaide, and looked forward to next year’s event.
