Pardon, what did you say? If this is the question you often ask, then it is time to have your hearing checked.

This is what has happened to Inman Valley sheep farmer Ike Ashby, who was the first customer at Specsavers new audiology service in Victor Harbor.

Audiologist Jonathon Perkov has joined the team at Specsavers and began operation on Thursday, October 11. Optical partners Barbara Vermeulen and Louise Twikler also lead a store which offers professional services for the community.

Jonathon said it was an exciting step to be part of the Specsavers team in Victor Harbor.

“There is a need for a service which offers quality hearing aids at low prices. It is important people act sooner rather than later and have their hearing tested, as we have state of the art equipment and offer great value for money,” Jonathon said.

Ike Ashby said he was as “deaf as a post” and was told by his wife Carolyn to have his ears tested.

“I always have the television on too loud, so I was sending her deaf. It is easy to have your hearing tested and I recommend others to have it done,” Ike said.

Farm life for more than 45 years has made it hard for Ike to hear properly, as he has been exposed to so much industrial noise.

“I find it very difficult to hear a conversation if there is a room full of noise,” he said.

Jonathon said there was a hearing solution for everyone that will meet the individual need, lifestyle and budget.

“Our hearing aids are digital and can be fine tuned to meet your personal listening needs. Hearing loss naturally occurs in both ears and that is why we give you a pair of hearing aids, programmed to work together for one low price,” Jonathon said.

“At Specsavers we have a wide range of hearing aids from leading manufacturers and they combine technology, comfort and ease of use at an affordable price.”
