Each November since 2003, Australians have been ditching the razor and growing their facial hair to raise awareness and funds for a range of men’s health issues, including, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
You don’t have to be a man to fundraise during Movember – you just have to care about them.
Registering at au.movember.com, guys start Movember clean-shaven. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men – known as Mo Bros – groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery.

Supported by the women in their lives – Mo Sistas – Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November.
They raise awareness by prompting private and public conversations around the often ignored issue of men’s health.
Last year, nearly 75,000 Mo Bros and Sistas across Australia raised more than 24.1 million dollars to help stop men dying too young, and with the foundation celebrating its 15th anniversary in Australia this year, Movember is hoping to again build on this success.

If you are a woman wanting to get involved, don’t worry you don’t have to grow a mo’ you can commit to MOVE this Movember by running or walking 60 miles over the month.
That’s 60 miles for the 60 men we lose to suicide each hour, every hour.
Women tend to be the gateway to health in a man’s life– whether it’s a mother or daughter, wife, girlfriend or pal. Women lead by example, and it’s the women’s health movement that Movember is emulating.
Studies have shown that men are less likely to talk about their health, let alone take action.
Women play an essential role in helping men break down the barriers that surround those simple health conversations and can be the catalyst in getting men to MOVE and stay active during the month.
