City of Victor Harbor calls for nominations for Australia Day honours

If you know someone who makes your community a better place, nominate them for a Citizen of the Year Award. There are many in the community who volunteer and deserve this recognition.

Award categories include Citizen of the Year – presented to the most outstanding Citizen, Young Citizen of the Year – presented to the most outstanding Citizen aged under 30 years and Community Event of the Year – presented to the individual or group who has staged the most outstanding community event during 2018.

Nominations opened on October 2. Nomination forms can be downloaded from council websites and returned to the CEO by Friday, November 16 at 5pm.

At the City of Victor Harbor you can post the nomination to  PO Box 11, Victor Harbor, SA 5211 or email – localgov@victor.sa.gov.au or drop it in person at the City of Victor Harbor Civic Centre, 1 Bay Road, Victor Harbor.

Hard copy nomination forms can be collected from the Civic Centre. The 2018 Citizen of the Year Awards are judged by a panel comprising Elected Members and community representatives.

The winners of the 2019 Citizen of the Year Awards will be announced following the December council meeting and the official awards ceremony will take place on Australia Day 2019, at Warland Reserve.
