The Christmas spirit has well and truly arrived in the Southern Vales with the annual Christies Beach Christmas Pageant attracting thousands of visitors from all around the region.
Held on Sunday, November 18 under blue skies and perfect weather, this years pageant was a site to behold with around 60 different floats appearing on the day.
Starting at 10 am all floats made there way, one by one down Beach Road until they finished at Rotary Park where there was entertainment and refreshments, providing a great afternoon of family-friendly fun.
Floats in this years pageant included a range of community groups, sporting clubs, animals and of course no Christmas Pageant would be complete without a visit from Santa.
After Santa completed his journey down Beach Road, he spent time in Rotary Park listening to all the Christmas Wishes of the children who had turned up in hopes of seeing the magical gift-bearing figure.
As part of her new job, recently elected City of Onkaparinga Mayor Erin Thompson chose her favourites in four categories – Best effort: Noarlunga Church, Best children’s entry: Beyond Gymnastics, Best Community/Business entry: Mitre 10 and Best entry overall: Onkaparinga Youth.
McLaren Vale is due to hold the next Christmas Pageant of the season along Main Road with Santa rumoured to be making another appearance.
