In juniors gusty conditions did not frighten two of the Opti Juniors who competed strongly in 4 short races. Mitch Kelsey won overall with three first places and Sophie Ward won one of the races coming close second in the other three.Great sailing in trying conditions.

For the seniors sails were hoisted and the very strong gusts came in, wanting to lift boats off trailers; some of the senior sailors decided to opt out on sailing for the afternoon. Those that did sail had some nail biting very fast sailing. It had been decided before the racing that we would try to sail 3 races and if the sailors still had some energy left, another couple of races could be catered for. After 3 very solid races , Peter de Vries decided that he was 'Jiggered' and came ashore only to find out that he had a first placing on handicap in all 3 races. The fleet completed another couple of races in now slightly moderating conditions. Equal 1st John Gratton in Hodoo with Dereck Maxted in Enitharmon. Third - Peter de Vries in Blue Shadow
