Members of the public will now be able to find Member for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie at a permanent office in Victor Harbor on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Ms Sharkie’s ‘satellite’ electorate office will be open from next week at 22 Hindmarsh Road, McCracken, between 9am and 5pm.
She had a temporary office open in Alexandrina Council and City of Victor Harbor facilities one day a week before the by-election and a day a week after the by-election in Victor Harbor, as the Australian Electoral Commission said Mayo was not big enough ‘geographically’ to have two full-time offices open.
“I have always believed that Mayo constituents needed a more accessible office on the Fleurieu,” Ms Sharkie said.
“But we have sourced sufficient funds within our budget to fund a permanent satellite office three days a week.”
She said the clearly signposted officer would have a “low-key opening” on December 10, then a celebratory sausage sizzle in late January.
Appointments with staff at the South Coast office can be booked by calling 8398 5566.
