Great Southern tennis returns this weekend after the Christmas/New Year break with teams eager for wins in the remaining six rounds. Division 1 commence with two Friday night matches.

Pt Elliot Red host Mt Compass. Gary Orr and Chris Lewis will be hoping to inspire their teammates to great deeds to ensure the win. For Mt Compass, who lie seventh on the ladder, Annabel Bowles and Rory Bowles have been consistent performers. Port Elliot should win.

John Wesley welcome Macclesfield in what should be a highly competitive match. John Wesley, sitting atop the ladder with just one loss. Natasha Abbott and Travis Roach are in sparkling form. Macclesfield, who sit third on the ladder, will value this tough hit out, with Caitlin and Jake Baker in good form. John Wesley to win when the lights go out at 10.

Inman Valley host Goolwa White in the tame version of “The Battle of Midway” due to this match being held at the Victor Harbor courts for lighting purposes. Inman will welcome a guest appearance from Gemma Shanahan while captain Darren Lush will be hoping to convert his supposed practice form on match night.

With finals on the line, it will be Inman who secure the victory.

Pt Elliot Black welcome Back Valley to the seaside. Pt Elliot Black will prove to be too strong.
