It is time to nominate for the Fleurieu Women’s Community Awards.

It is an award for women who have gone above and beyond the call of duty for their community.

The Fleurieu Women’s Community Awards will once again celebrate the achievements of women on International Women’s Day, Friday, March 8.

Hosted by Member for Finniss David Basham and the Victor Harbor VIEW Club, nominations are sought for inspirational women who have made or are making outstanding contributions to the region or have inspired others through their achievements.

This is the seventh such event held in the area and the categories this year are Volunteer in Sport, Volunteer in Health, Volunteer in Education, Volunteer Agriculture/Environment and Young Female Ambassador.

Closing date for nominations will be February 22, 2019.

The Awards will be announced and  presented at an Awards Breakfast at EAT @ Whalers on Friday, March 8, at 7.45am for 8 am.

There will be a Celebrity Guest Speaker.

In 2018 the event was hosted by then Member for Finniss Michael Pengilly and judges Pat Chigwidden, Janet Jones and Bronwen Mullen announced the winners to be Robyn Hosking, Melissa Rebbeck and Karen Robinson.

Robyn for her volunteer work in sport, Melissa  in agriculture and Karen in education and sport. All worthy recipients.

There is little doubt that in 2019 the Fleurieu Women’s Community Awards will once again honour and recognise women who do so much in the community on International Women’s Day.

Last year the event was held at the Hotel Victor and it has always been well attended and in 2019, the event will be held at Eat @ Whalers.

The awards breakfast is a celebration to all women who achieve so much in the community.
