From January 3 to January 7, five teams from the Great Southern Tennis Association competed in the WTC Country Carnival.

Tennis SA provide the opportunity for regional players to compete against each other in both team and individual events. This year the events were held mainly at the Kensington Tennis Club. Unfortunately day one was cancelled due to the weather being too hot.

But the next three days was full of some great tennis played by all teams. Top juniors from the Great Southern Tennis Association relished the opportunity to test their skills.

The Under 16 Division 1 team from the Great Southern Tennis Association, which consisted of Neil Smit, Benny Seidel, Obe Weir, Atticus Weir and Hugo Smit won the team event.

This was a great effort, as four of the players were eligible to play in a lower division. The last day of the carnival was the Individual events. Some players were starting to struggle from travelling, playing consistently for three days, but they did the association proud and came away with great results.

Under 16 winner was Jasper Roberts, Under 16 constellation winner Neil Smit, Under 14 runner up Obe Weir, Under 14 constellation winner Benny Seidel and Under 14 doubles winners Benny Seidel and Obe Weir, Under 12 winner Dylan Wilson.
