Sporting clubs and eligible community organisations across the Fluerieu region are being urged to apply for the next rounds of the State Government's Active Club Program and Community Recreation and Sports Facilities Program.
Applications for both programs are open between February 14 and April 17.
Member for Finniss David Basham said both the Active Club Program and Community Recreation and Sports Facilities Program are well-established programs providing support for sport and recreation activity in communities across South Australia.
“The Active Club Program provides grants of up to $5000 to sports clubs for things like playing equipment, uniforms, grounds maintenance equipment or costs associated with programs developing or improving services," Mr Basham said.
The Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program provides grants from $25,000-200,000 for ‘minor’ facilities developments, and up to $1 million for major infrastructure.
“Since I was elected last year, a range of sports clubs on the Fleurieu Peninsula have received tens of thousands of dollars from these programs. I hope our clubs have got their pencils sharpened for more applications," said Mr Basham.
An information session about applying to the Active Club Program will be held by the Office of Recreation, Sport and Racing, at the Mount Compass Community Sports and Social Club from 6pm on March 5.
