Expect to see dogs donning their favourite costumes this Sunday, March 17 as the Dogs Day Out on the Fleurieu event rolls into Port Elliot.

A highlight of the annual event is the doggy dress up competition, which includes a parade for dogs and their owners.

There are categories for under 13 years and open age parade, and includes best look-a-like pair (dog and owner).

This year the doggy dress up competition is followed by a parade of trainee RSB Guide Dogs and a search and find demonstration by SES Rescue Dogs.

Also at the event will be a number of stalls, displays and dog demonstrations, as well as hot dogs and pawcakes.

An art exhibition featuring paintings, drawings, photographs, cartoons, 3D art, pottery, sewing, and art by dogs is another element of the fun to be had at the Dogs Day Out on the Fleurieu.

The Dogs Day Out on the Fleurieu is held at Lakala Reserve in Port Elliot from 10am to 2pm. Entry is a gold coin donation.
