McCracken woman dead, Findon man arrested after car, truck collide on Victor Harbor Road at McLaren Vale

A McCracken woman has sadly passed away two days after her car and a truck collided head-on at McLaren Vale.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene at the intersection of Seaview Road and Victor Harbor Road on Tuesday night, March 12 to find the 50-year-old woman with serious injuries.

She was taken to Flinders Medical Centre in a critical condition but passed away on Thursday

The truck driver, a 22-year-old Findon man, was arrested after blowing 0.093 in a blood alcohol test. He was not injured.

The man was originally charged with aggravated cause harm by dangerous driving and drink driving, but will now face a charge of causing death by dangerous driving when he appears at Christies Beach Magistrates Court on April 24. 

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene and Victor Harbor Road was closed for several hours.

The woman's death is the 25th on the state's roads this year, compared to 16 at the same time last year.
