Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club is one of 12 South Australian community groups to receive funding through RAA's Regional Safety Grants program.
Critical projects run by community groups, clubs and organisations to improve safety and wellbeing locally are allocated funding through the program.
The yacht club scored nearly $2000 for the purchase of a GPS-enabled chart plotter for the main safety boat.
The boat is an essential part of every race held by the club during the year.
RAA spokesperson Amanda Trainor said the grants will give much-needed support for the groups and the communities they serve.
"It can be really difficult for small communities in country areas to raise money for important projects, which is why RAA’s Regional Safety Grants are so important," she said.
"RAA is pleased to be able to provide $50,000 worth of grants to 12 worthy causes across the state this year, which all share a common goal of keeping South Australians safe."
