Community involvement is an important component of the decision making process and the City of Victor Harbor wants to improve how it engages with its community. To help the council achieve this, it has reviewed its Public Consultation Policy and seeks the community’s feedback.

The draft Public Consultation Policy aims to clearly set out the minimum communication and consultation requirements that council is required to comply with under the Local Government Act 1999. One significant change to the draft policy is the inclusion of a set of principles that outline how the City of Victor Harbor intends to conduct community engagement.

“As a new group of elected members, we have made a commitment to improve how we inform, consult and involve our community on issues and projects that matter to you,” City of Victor Harbor mayor Moira Jenkins said. To view the draft Public Consultation Policy visit www.yoursay.victor.sa.gov.au or collect a hard copy from council. The community has until 5pm on Friday, April 5, to have their say.
