Encounter Bay, Victor Harbor, Yankalilla, Mount Compass and McLaren were all winners after the first round of football this season and have given themselves the perfect springboard to launch in 2019.
McLaren and Yankalilla had big wins, Encounter Bay shocked reigning premiers Langhorne Creek at Hawk Park, Victor Harbor won a close one against Strathalbyn by seven points in the match of the day and Mount Compass gave Willunga a lesson on how to play football.
Round two provides the losers form round one redemption and none more than Willunga, who travel to Mudlark Park. Both teams lost in round one, so this will be a desperate affair. The defence of McDonald and Ficken is solid for the Demons and Standfield, Collier and Renney contribute each week. For the Mudlarks Clarke, Harman, Squires, Fitzpatrick, Hill and O'Hanlon will offer resistance.
Kiss Of Death - Willunga by 34 points.
Encounter Bay had a great start to the year and although they lost some players in the preseason, the new boys are standing up and this will be a great game as the Tigers have some new inclusions as well.
Barrett, Baldock, Toole, along with youngsters Bradford and Crispin give the Bays an injection of true talent. The big question for the Bays, is who will stop Braendler and Kelly for the Tigers?
Lee will have a great duel with Callum Tonkin in ruck and Laba and Gotch will win their share of the footy around the stoppages.
Kiss Of Death - Encounter Bay by 1 point.
Mount Compass host Victor Harbor in another match of the day. Both were impressive in round one, but the Roos cannot afford to be so inaccurate against the Dogs. They will pay. Pinyon and Ziggy Vitkunas will be tough for Bartlett and Lang, but so will Alleway, Fletcher and Basham be difficult for the Dogs to counter.
Copestick, Heatley and Hunter have started well for the Dogs, as has Schubert, McKay and Weetra for the Roos.
Kiss Of Death - Victor Harbor by 7 points.
Strathalbyn take on Goolwa/Port Elliot and it is the right time to take on the Magpies, as their full list may not be ready until after the Easter break. The Magpies let themselves down in one quarter against McLaren, so the likes of Shane Fox, Helbig, Marsh, Payne and Ferguson will strive for a four quarter effort. O'Grady, Stirling, Mahains, Joe Slattery and Sam Elliott are in good form for the Roosters.
Kiss Of Death - Strathalbyn by 41 points.
McLaren will host Langhorne Creek and the Hawks will be desperate for a win. James, Kellock, Mitch Cleggett and Howell will try to turn the tide, but Ellis, the Mathews boys, Zohar and Gill are on a mission in 2019.
Kiss Of Death - McLaren by 17 points.
