About 50 veterans, their families and supporters gathered at The Roos Club on Sunday, April 21, for the first official Victor Harbor RSL function at the new premises. There was lunch and musical entertainment by member Dean Bird.
Sub-branch vice-president Kent Johncock and president Dave Miller outlined the history of the new combined club room facility with the Victor Harbor Football Club. Mr Miller said you don't have to have served in the armed forces to be a member of the RSL, as associate members are also welcome at a cost of $40 per year.
He paid tribute to members Peter Francis, Rod McCallum and Martin Fisher. The club rooms are open Wednesday from 1-4pm and Fridays from 4.30pm, as well as activities on Sunday.
