Mount Compass are the story of the year at the moment and definitely the story of the week after coming from a 41 point deficit at three quarter time to win by four points against Encounter Bay. What a last quarter.

The Bays will be in shock, but should hold some consolation that they pushed the best team in the business for three quarters and out played them.

In the other games, Victor Harbor defeated Myponga/Sellicks by 47 points, Langhorne Creek defeated Goolwa/Port Elliot by 40 points, Willunga strangled Yankalilla to win by 72 points and McLaren finished the better over Strathalbyn to win by 25 points.

Round six consists of more great games and there will be none better than Langhorne Creek hosting Willunga.

The Demons are strong all over the ground now and coach Portlock would like the way the team is humming. Miegel, Bass, Scott, Dawson, Hutchens and Beath are in great form. The Hawks are inconsistent, but Jake Dominish is finding plenty of the ball and stars like Derham, Sellar, Lally and Kellock always shine.

Myponga/Sellicks are improving and with the possible inclusion of Phillips could push McLaren. Donohue, Hill, Spinks and Mayes will match it with Jimmy Mathews, Fenoughty, Hopkins and Lawrie. McLaren keep finding players to kick their goals. One week it is Wakefield, the next Watchman and now Ellison.

Victor Harbor take on Yankalilla and the Roos are winning despite key injuries, in particular Clint Alleway. Ben Basham is leading the defence and Hewett is going well for the Roos. The Tigers had a day to forget last week and will come out firing. Jesse Fitzgerald, Wilson, Laba and Clark will be up for the challenge.

Goolwa/Port Elliot and Encounter Bay will play an Indigenous round, which shows respect for the Aboriginal culture. This will not help the Magpies, as the Bays will be fuming after last weeks capitulation.

Callum Tonkin, Crispin, Nick Marshall (like the way he goes about his business), Illingworth, West and Bradford will go out hard and it will be a tough day for the Magpies.

Miller, Sutter, George, Neville, Ferguson and Wiese will make the Bays earn every point.

Strathalbyn will try to end the winning run of the Dogs. The Roosters are a side not able to play four quarters. But one bloke who can is O'Grady and he is leading the next generation of Roosters in Clamp, Machin, Stirling and Slattery. The Dogs have too much firepower in Pinyon and Ziggy Vitkunas and Hoban should give the runners first use.
