Victor Harbor's Taryn Richardson is proving that there's more to a business than being a success, they can also raise awareness and money for some causes close to hearts. Taryn's business, JaDs Hairdressers, has been fundraising for the Charlie Teo Foundation, raising funds for brain cancer research and Ovarian Cancer Australia.
The salon was part of Charlie's Angels, an initiative between the Australian Hairdressing Council, The Journal magazine and the Charlie Teo Foundation. Over 300 salons Australia wide participated.
"Our clients supported this so well and we managed to raise a whopping $1197. A gigantic cheque was presented to Charlie Teo at the Australia Hair Fashion Awards for over $70k," Taryn said.
Now the salon team is getting behind the Pureology Painting the Town Teal campaign. Last year more than 150 salons raised over $12,000 for Ovarian Cancer Australia.
