Undefeated after five rounds, Mount Compass have hit a hurdle, losing the past two matches and fallen from top spot.
Langhorne Creek enjoyed inflicting pain onto the Dogs with a 12 point win in round seven and staking their claim as a premiership threat in 2019.
In other games Victor Harbor defeated McLaren by 25 points to confirm their status as ladder leader, Encounter Bay rolled the Mudlarks by 79 points, Willunga defeated Goolwa/Port Elliot by 77 points and Strathalbyn continue their rise with a 48 point victory over Yankalilla.

The Demons have a lot of height, but are also resourceful on the ground with Sam Renney, Hoffmann, Brown, Nelson and Miegel. The Roos are no slouches either with Les Weetra leading the way and Sam Basham being a formidable target up forward.
Kiss Of Death - Victor Harbor by 7 points.
Strathalbyn will test their new found form against Encounter Bay. The youth of the Bays is led by Illingworth, Bradford and Fyfe and with Toole and Marshall as forward targets, the Bays can kick winning scores.
For the Roosters, Simounds is starting to mark his territory and Marc Elliot leads the likes of Clark and Clamp proudly.
Kiss Of Death - Strathalbyn by 9 points.
McLaren host Yankalilla and the Tigers need to start winning soon or the finals train will have gone. They also need Jono Lee back on the paddock to lead the ruck. Chris Clark played his best game for the club last week and with Whittlesea, Edwards, James and Fisher will push McLaren.
The Tigers will have to stop Ellison, Wakefield and Watchman and they only have one Durdin.
Kiss Of Death - McLaren by 22 points.
Myponga/Sellicks return home to meet a confident Langhorne Creek. The Hawks are looking ready to defend their crown now after a slow start to the season. Sellar, Kellock, Lally, James, Howell and Perrey are true ball winners and premiership heroes, so the Mudlarks are in for a tough day. Hill, Donohue, Kempster, O'Hanlon and Wade Hutchinson will be up for the fight.
Kiss Of Death - Langhorne Creek by 50 points.
Mount Compass can stop the run of losses this week when they meet Goolwa/Port Elliot. Pinyon, Ziggy Vitkunas and Boots will have big days and it will be hard for the Magpies to stop the angry Dogs. Stoldt, Sutter, Gransden, Wilson, Ezard and the Fry boys will be working hard back in defence to keep the Mount Compass unit from doing too much damage.
Kiss Of Death - Mount Compass by 48 points.
