In Concert, the annual concert presentation by the Victor Harbor City Band, is being held once again as two matinees in the Victor Harbor Town Hall on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16 at 2pm.

As usual, an entertaining program of brass band music has been prepared by conductor Brenton Osborne.

It will include solo pieces from band members, along with a variety of popular and serious pieces, plus a sprinkling of traditional marches.

Although not related to the music, a feature of the concerts over the past few years has been the amazing raffle prizes thanks to the generosity of local traders.

This year's offerings again will not disappoint, with restaurant and hotel meals, selected wines, gifts and a cornucopia of other items available.

Starring items in the musical presentation will be two medleys: one of Frank Sinatra favourites, the other a presentation of the best of Glen Miller pieces, featuring the excellent trombone section of the band.

Of course, more modern favourites will be there on the program which will appeal to all ages.

It is a costly exercise to keep the band playing throughout the Fleurieu Peninsula each year and the band depends on money raised at these concerts to remain viable.

Tickets are $15 and are available at Swan's Pharmacy, Victoria Street, Victor Harbor or at the door.
