Myponga Bowling Club's new synthetic green is proving extremely popular during their Monday afternoon social winter tournaments and many are travelling considerable distances to compete.

While the upgraded green has continued to attract new and regular players, social events at the club are also pulling their weight.

The club has a reputation for enjoyable events and every week all rinks are in play with skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced pennant.

The days of bowls competition include prizes for overall winners, winner of the losers, a jackpot door prize and raffles. A light afternoon tea is served, nibbles are provided after the game with tea and coffee and bar facilities also available.

Club representative Chris Hutchinson said light-hearted, bragging, jokes and tall stories are usually a feature following games and some of the locals excel in this department. Players are required to book in before 11.00 am on the Monday of play by telephoning Chris on 0438 126 329. So far this year, no event has had to be postponed due to weather.
