Hold on a minute, wasn't it round one only a few weeks ago? As we finish the first round of games for the season, some front runners seem to be emerging from the pack.
Victor Harbor are currently undefeated and look to be untouchable, their closest game has been against fourth placed Myponga who have had a brilliant start to the season.
Willunga and Goolwa trail closely behind Victor and will be looking for ways to claw their way to a grand final appearance.
Yank vs Compass - It is pride on the line for this bottom of the table clash, as Yank try to claim their first win of the season. Compass have found some form and will not let the young Yank girls take the win too easily. Both teams are running with similar line ups each week and have had moments of brilliant netball throughout the season.
I hope that Yank come together and get a win on the board this week, but my tip has to go to the Compass girls who will be too experienced. Compass by 11.
Creek vs Victor - The Creek girls have had an inconsistent start to the season, but have proved that they have potential to mix it with some of the strongest teams in the competition. This week will test their abilities as Victor's defenders make young Creek goalies Charlee Clifford and Caitlin Dewhurst earn every goal.
Cara Panuccio will have her work cut out for her against Shane Nethercott, who will cause headaches for the usual free flowing attack line of Victor. Victor to win by 22.
Willunga vs Strathalbyn - This is an important match for both sides, as Strathalbyn fight to hold on to the hope of a top four finish and Willunga try to maintain their position as second on the premiership table.
Strathalbyn are without captain Gemma Darlington and will be looking for other players to step up and lead the team positively throughout this match. Kim Cutting will work tirelessly against the Willunga centre courts, who together will prove too strong on this occasion.
Willunga will be back with a vengeance this week and dominate the match by 19.
Goolwa vs Myponga - A few weeks ago Myponga had what it took to defeat Goolwa. However, through player availability Myponga's consistency may have to be questioned. Young gun Lucy Raper has had a brilliant start to the season, partnered with Kasey Clarke in the goal circle.
These two continue to get brilliant feeds from Kristen Rothwell and will be no easy task for the Goolwa defenders. Goolwa are likely to welcome back Kylie Jarrett to their side and after a few weeks of players in different positions will try to find a line-up that works for them. I wonder if Jordan Hooper will line up against her old club for this game? Goolwa by 9.
Congratulations to the Great Southern 13&Under, 15&Under and Senior teams at the Country Championships, as they all made the semi finals. Special mention to the 15&Under team for making the grand final and to Kelly White who was selected in the Senior 'Team of the Year'.
