After a mixed weekend of association football, it is time to return to local football, as teams jostle for finals placings. It is open slather with six teams separated by only a game and another two still hanging onto hope for a good run home to stake their claim.

Round nine sees everyone played each other once and this is the perfect guide to where the teams sit. Or does it? On their day, the top eight sides can beat each other, so it is difficult to get a good form guide in 2019.

Yankalilla are sitting ninth, but only two games from fifth and will need a run of wins to make finals. It all could start this week when they meet Mount Compass.

The Tigers have boosted its ruck stocks with the return of Josh Wilson and they will need him to stop the domination of Hoban.

Durdin will have his hands full in defence, as he will go to Pinyon, but this still leaves Ziggy Vitkunas and Boots to watch. Big games will be required from Clark, Matt Wilson and Gotch if the Tigers are to get up.

Langhorne Creek host Victor Harbor. The Hawks are a game behind the Roos and need this win to get back into finals and double chance calculations. Perrey, Clifford, Matt Dominish, Blackwell, Sellar, Kellock and Lally are in great touch for the Hawks and at home will test the strength of the Roos.

Ross, Davey, Fletcher, the Basham boys, Weetra, McRostie and Zac Dowling are keys if the Roos are to win this one.

Willunga meet the barnstorming Roosters and these games never fail to deliver. Marc Elliott is in career best form and is leading his team from the front. O'Grady, Clamp, Machin, Sterling and Slattery will push the Demons. Standfield, Beath, Hoffmann, Altus, Cook and Collier will strive to keep Willunga in the hunt for top spot.

Encounter Bay take on McLaren and this game is crucial for the Bays at home. Wakefield is in top touch for McLaren, along with Watchman, Gill, Jimmy Mathews, White, Young and Williams.

For the Bays, Crispin, Davis-Neale, Sweetman, Bonnes and the Tonkin boys can match it with anyone and will know the importance of this game for the club.

Goolwa/Port Elliot and Myponga/Sellicks meet in a game that will be like a final. Neither side has won a game this season. Donohue, Hill, Clarke, Kennedy and James Hutchinson will be pitted against Magpies Marsh,Trent Griffen and Ferguson.

It is hoped draw cards Simon Phillips for the Mudlarks and Ryan Griffen for Goolwa/Port Elliot will be playing.
