What a great game Australian Rules is. Fortunately in the Great Southern Football League we do not have crowd control officers patrolling our mounds, because if they were, there would be many who would be told to leave the ground for supporting their team too loud and with too much emotion.

Well, at Goolwa on Saturday there was a lot of emotion, as the Magpies won their first game since 2017. The noise, the barracking, is what the game is all about, it gets players motivated and what has transpired in the AFL this week, needs to stay there and not infiltrate the GSFL. Of course respect is paramount to one's race, sex and religion, but there is nothing better than going to the football and having a great day of supporting your team and your favourite players.

On the down side, Myponga/Sellicks lost to the Magpies and sit at the foot of the table without a win. In other games Mount Compass demolished Yankalilla by 103 points, Encounter Bay pushed McLaren before losing by 17 points, Willunga went berserk in the first half against Strathablyn, cruising home to win by 23 points and in the match of the day, Victor Harbor defeated Langhorne Creek by nine points. This game had everything including the return of the excitement machine Lachlan McGregor for the Hawks.

Round 10 will be another round of testing results with the match of the day being the clash at Mount Compass.

The Dogs host Willunga and on form this could be the prelude to this year's grand final. Miegel versus Copestick, Hunt and Bass against Hoban, it is mouth watering. The biggest issue for the Demons is having a defence to stop Pinyon, Ziggy Vitkunas and Boots. But Willunga coach Mitch Portlock will be working on the principle of not letting the ball get down there.

Kiss Of Death - Mount Compass by 11 points.

Victor Harbor travel to Strathalbyn and this will be a big game for both sides. The height and strength of Alleway, McKay, Sam Basham and Davey will worry the Roosters, but Simounds is hitting his straps and Price gets under the radar of opposition players.

Kiss Of Death - Victor Harbor by 7 points.

Encounter Bay need to keep their season alive and can do this by rolling Langhorne Creek. Karpany, Baldock, Bonnes, Sweetman and the Tonkin boys do not play to make up the numbers, but Helyar, Clifford and Tasman Follett are Hawks to watch.

Kiss Of Death - Langhorne Creek by 20 points.

McLaren should bring Goolwa/Port Elliot back to earth, but will need to stop Ferguson, Daniel Fry and Cinc.

Kiss Of Death - McLaren by 33 points.

Myponga/Sellicks host Yankalilla and the Tigers are desperate for a win, but so are the Mudlarks.

Kiss Of Death - Yankalilla by 47 points.
