The Fleurieu community is being encouraged to get involved in Red Donut Day, an annual campaign aiming to raise $50,000 for SIDS and Kids SA.
The funding will go towards allowing SIDS and Kids SA to continue their free professional counselling services for hundreds of bereaved South Australian families.
SIDS and Kids SA CEO Alicen McNaughton said a successful Red Donut Day fundraising drive will help the organisation continue to offer free bereavement support services for South Australians.
"SIDS and Kids SA receives no government funding so as a result, we are dependent on the generosity of the South Australian public to finance the support services we currently offer grieving families," Ms McNaughton said.
"Last year alone, we responded to 80 infant and child deaths, and provided 641 free, professional counselling sessions to more than 150 South Australians. If this vital service is to continue, we need the backing of the entire state to secure its future, so I urge every South Australian to play their part and support Red Donut Day."

Bendigo Bank SA/NT State Manager Paul Mertin said the whole organisation was firmly behind Red Donut Day and urged all South Australians to support the campaign as best they can.
"As Red Donut Day's major charity partner, we are loyal supporters of SIDS and Kids SA, and the fantastic work they do for South Australian families," he said.
"We encourage everyone to get involved and support this wonderful organisation by pre-ordering your donuts and hosting a fundraising event at your workplace or school, or by simply grabbing a donut during Red Donut Day Week."
This year 30 branches from Bendigo Bank's SA branch network will be used as donut collection points for the public and other supporters of the campaign.
Red Donut Day is proudly supported by Vili's Bakery. If you missed out on ordering your red donut they will be available from Vili's Bakery Cafe and selected Bunnings Warehouse Cafes from June 24 to June 28.
