19-year-old Victor Harbor photographer Brannon Jackson is returning to town following his successful completion of a Diploma of Screen and Media at the New York Film Academy's Queensland campus.

A self-taught photographer, Brannon has spent five years honing his craft, having moved to the Sunshine Coast at the age of 17 to pursue his dreams.

The one year diploma with the renowned school has opened a number of doors for Brannon who has successfully built a photography business which ranges from work with private clients, to portrait photography and event work.

He also works for three companies creating social media content and branding opportunities.

During his time studying at the New York Film Academy on the Sunshine Coast, Brannon has had a number of surreal experiences.

"One of the highlights during my course was filming at the Village Roadshow studios which is where Thor, Aquaman and may other great films were shot," he said.

Brannon has maintained a growing portfolio of clients and collaborators and is looking forward to further developing his skills.

"I've had the opportunity to team up with a number of companies and create content for social media, one of which has over 20,000 followers," he said.

Discussing his time at university, Brannon raves about the experience.

"I really enjoyed it, I have been able to get all of my assignments to the highest grade possible," he said.

"After going to Uni during the day I would come home and continue to learn as much as I could about the craft of film at night.

"I would use sources such as Youtube, online Forums and Instagram to learn more."

Brannon will soon be returning to Victor Harbor and plans on growing his business, while working locally and internationally.

He has a number of upcoming events booked and has been personally invited to Yokohama in Japan to shoot and create content for a TED TALKS event in October.
