The country championships are played and done and congratulations to the Southern Districts Women team for its magnificent win at Port Pirie. The Men's side will once again go away and do some soul searching after a dismal display.

Willunga's Tyson Hoffmann had a championship he will never forget by being named in the Team of the Championships.

McLaren and successful Southern Districts Women's coach Kiefver Zohar was rightfully selected as Coach of the Championships and other Great Southern girls selected were Jaimi Griffen (Encounter Bay), Layla Rogers and Tahita Buethke (McLaren) and Katrice Turner (Willunga). Well done.

Coming back to earth it is round 13 of Great Southern football and the match of the round is undoubtedly the big clash between Mount Compass and McLaren. McLaren must stop Pinyon and Ziggy Vitkunas, who are in devastating form and the return of Pittaway has given the onball team a boost.

McLaren will work on stopping the supply to the best key forwards in the competition and the pressure will be on Ellis, Lawrie, Gregory, Jimmy Mathews, Vandeleur, Marr and White to achieve this.

Kiss Of Death - Mount Compass by 16 points.

Victor Harbor host Goolwa/Port Elliot and the Roos cannot take the Magpies lightly. The Roos are looking stable in the five and will play finals in 2019. Davey, Alleway, Ross, Sam Basham and McKay are in irresistible form and the Magpies will need Ferguson, Godwin-Knott, Neville, Ezard, Stoldt and the Fry brothers to be at the top of their game if they are to pull off an upset.

Kiss Of Death - Victor Harbor by 31 points.

Strathalbyn take on Myponga/Sellicks and the break would have done wonders for the Mudlarks. Ogilvie, Donohue, Dahlitz, James Hutchinson and Jake Spinks will be ready to take on the best Strath have to offer in Clamp, Tucker and Sam Elliott.

Kiss Of Death - Strathalbyn by 49 points.

Willunga play Encounter Bay and the Demons are rolling with their big guys dominating. Davidson, Karpany, Fyfe, Illingworth and Bonnes will do their best to keep the side's slim finals chances alive. Bass, Standfield, Haskett, Ficken and Burdett are starting to rise.

Kiss Of Death - Willunga by 28 points.

Langhorne Creek host Yankalilla and the Tigers look wounded. Laba, Shute, Kay and Whittlesea will do their best, but the numbers of the Hawks will be too much at home. Howell, Arbon, Kellock, Sellar, Derham and Jake Dominish are priming for finals.

Kiss Of Death - Langhorne Creek by 22 points.
