Round 19 at The Investigator College Victor Harbor Campus Performing Arts and Sports Centre saw Fleurieu Milk Company guarantee themselves a spot in the finals with a 35 point victory over a gallant Stanvac Korean Autoparts.
Beth Fidock was in great form with a best on court performance for the victors, while for Stanvac's Mark Williamson and Mark Gajutos put in some solid performances.
OJ Computers kept their season alive for the time being, dispatching an under strength McDonald's-V.H. to the tune of 51 points. In a rivalry that has been taking place since the mid 1960's, club stalwarts and life members Allan Brown and Allan Tonkin went head to head and despite three of their matches going into overtime (2 point margin), Browny remained undefeated for the evening and was his team's highest points scorer. With so many players away for McDonald's last week, the burden of heavy lifting was placed on the shoulders of Matthew Farmer and Leon McMillan who both toiled hard to limit the scoreboard damage.
On court 3 Victor Podiatry Centre was dealt a very welcome "get out of jail free card", when they were gifted two sets due to an injury forfeit against top of the ladder Hamper Warehouse. In the wash-up they secured a 19 point win and facing the wooden spooners this week they should be a very high chance of wrapping up at least third spot and a finals berth on the premiership ladder.
The misfortune of the injury, opened the door for former player Eben Brown to dust off the cobwebs in making a return to play as a social substitute in the 2 forfeited matches.
