With two rounds to go, the shocks are continuing in the Great Southern Football League. While the five teams to compete in the 2019 finals series look to be set, their ultimate ladder positions are still anyone's guess.

Victor Harbor has once again conceded top spot to Willunga after a poor showing and upset loss to McLaren at home. McLaren now looks set to make finals above Strathalbyn and could even leapfrog Creek into fourth depending on results. Victor, who have held top spot for a majority of the year, are battling alongside the Demons to finish top two, with Compass and Creek hungrily trailing close behind. The Creek's come-from-behind win against Compass proves that last year's champions can go back to back, despite some early inconsistency. The final two minor round matches will potentially have huge ramifications heading into finals and all sides will want to be at their best.

This week, Willunga takes on Victor Harbor at home in what is set to be match of the round. Victor will be desperately hoping for a win to claim a top two spot. Two losses could see the Roos drop as low as fifth, so expect a high intensity encounter. While the Roos will come out strong, taking on Willunga at home is most likely a bridge too far.

Strathalbyn is still a mathematical chance to make finals if they win their final two matches by solid margins and McLaren drops a game. Expect them to come out firing against Encounter Bay, who have had a tough season, which has been bolstered by the blooding of some young guns.

Yankalilla takes on McLaren in what will be an important game for the Eagles, who will be chasing two strong wins to potentially catapult them into the top four. Yank has battled hard all year and will put on a show at home, but with a finals position on the line, expect McLaren to take this one out.

Langhorne Creek played a brilliant team game on Saturday to take out Mount Compass, which included a great run of play where the Hawks scored four goals in four minutes. They are firing at the right time and have the potential to shake up the ladder. Myponga-Sellicks has had a disappointing season but continued to battle admirably and have had some consistent performers. The Creek will be too strong however.

Mount Compass is eyeing a top two finish and look likely to jump into second either on percentage or points, depending on results. All that stands in their way is Goolwa/Port Elliot, who have had a difficult season. The Magpies will come out with intensity in their final home game of the year, but the Dogs look too strong.
