Inman Valley Red Cross' year of success

Inman Valley Red Cross has celebrated the successful year of events they have held.

In May, the group hosted the 60th zone conference, and club co-president Betty Nottle received her 60-year service rosette from vice patron Greg Clark.

At the recent annual general meeting, office bearers elected were co-presidents Betty Nottle and Shirley Lienert, secretary Mary Perry, and treasurer Thia van Kuyk.

The group continues to serve refreshments on Tuesdays when the Mobile Blood Service visits Victor Harbor.

Some members gather at McLaren Vale Shopping Centre to collect donations every May.

The branch is holding a film afternoon at the Victa Cinema on September 12 at 2pm, when there will be a screening of Downton Abbey.

Tickets are $16 and include the movie, afternoon tea, and a door prize. There will also be a raffle with tickets $1 each.

To book a seat, call Shirley on 8552 1804 or Betty on 8552 8221.

Members were saddened by the recent passing of fellow member Faye White.
