Taking Tom Murray Home, an award-winning novel will be put under the microscope at the Victor Harbor Library on Tuesday, August 27.
The novel was written by Tim Slee who is now based in Copenhagen, but spent most of his early working life in SA and other parts of Australia.
The book, which won the inaugural Harper Collins Banjo Award for unpublished authors, was released in July and details the experiences of the Murray dairy farming family when a bank forecloses on them, but rather than just walk away, owner Tom Murray decides to burn the family home down.
What follows has been described as a funny and moving story about how community, friends and love trump pain and anger every time.
The Victor Harbor event at which Tim will speak, is being organised by the South Seas bookshop in Pt Elliot and the Victor Harbor Library and will start in the library from 6.30 pm.
