Australia Post is pleased to announce that the Yankalilla Post Office has been recognised as one of this year's Australia Post Licensee Award recipients for its excellence in customer service.
Taking first place for Western Australia and South Australia, and second place nationally, the Yankalilla Post Office received the award for excellence in customer service and Post Office operations, as well as its contribution to its local community.
Australia Post State General Manager Donna Vecchio said the Yankalilla Post Office is a deserving winner.
"Post Offices play such an important role in our communities, providing our customers with ease, choice and convenience in accessing important services," Ms Vecchio said.
"These awards acknowledge the hard work our licensed partners commit to communities and Australia Post. It's only fitting that we recognise and celebrate the wonderful service the Yankalilla Post Office provides its customers every day.
"We are committed to our licensed Post Office network, and importantly the communities they support across Australia. In line with this commitment, we announced an additional $34 million investment into our licensed Post Offices earlier this year and have been working hard to guarantee the future of essential services such as Bank@Post to Australian communities."
The top five post offices in South Australia and Western Australia were Yankalilla, Edinburgh RAAF, Burra, Yorketown and Edithburgh.
The Yankalilla Post Office is located at 94 Main South Road, Yankalilla and is open 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
