A passion and love for building, combined with years of experience in the industry, were a driving force behind the establishment of 4Life Constructions.
Owners and directors Matt Cates and Bec Nunn have been there from the very start in 2015, and since then the company has been committed to serving the Fleurieu region.
4Life Constructions specialises in high-end architectural homes, new custom homes, sustainable and energy-efficient homes, extensions and renovations plus outdoor living and entertainment areas.
Director and builder Matt is a carpenter by trade who naturally loves building. Being a local, he is extremely knowledgeable about the Fleurieu Peninsula, from understanding the environment and local regulations to knowing all the best local trades and services.
Administration and accounts manager Bec is not only a busy mum to son Kai, she works behind the scenes at 4Life Constructions to ensure everything runs smoothly.
With a cool, calm, and collected nature, she oversees all the accounts, budgets and ensures everything runs to plan.
One of the things that sets the 4Life Constructions team apart is the way they treat every single project "as if it was their own".
A small, family-owned company, they choose to only take on a limited number of projects per year, allowing them to provide clients with a very personalised service as they work directly with Matt.
"Matt has been a carpenter for over 15 years and takes a huge amount of pride in every aspect of the build," Bec said.
"His attention to detail is second-to-none and we thrive to build every one of our homes to the highest of quality and standards.
"We can organise the lot from design, approvals and everything in between. Our friendly and informative style will ensure the building process is transparent every step of the way, allowing for nothing but an enjoyable and positive experience."
The team at 4Life Constructions is also committed to keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in the industry, to ensure they can offer their customers an extensive range of ideas and services.
"Current trends we are seeing with our builds are designs featuring open plan living, lots of natural light, polished concrete floors, high ceilings, the use of colour and feature walls," Bec said.
"Constructing a new home or renovation is a complex process that involves a huge amount of detail and specialist trades. A lot goes on behind the scenes in every build that people are not aware of, so we recommend anyone looking at building should make sure they use a reputable, licensed and insured builder who they have a great working relationship with."
Not only do Matt and Bec love working in their local community, they believe the Fleurieu is a wonderful place to raise a family.
"From its friendly locals, beautiful scenery and coastline as well as a range of activities you can not really fault it as a place to work and live. We are pretty lucky to build some amazing homes at so many amazing locations," they said.
"It is very important to us to support the local community, especially now we are rising our one-year-old son here. We make sure we use all local trades where possible, as well as sponsor local sporting teams and events.
"We are looking into more ways we can get involved within our area and continually promote the growth and prosperity of the Fleurieu Peninsula."
