The Encounter Centre is holding a morning tea to celebrate Adult Learners Week (ALW) on Monday, September 2, with all welcome.

Located in Victor Harbor, the Encounter Centre has run adult education programs for over 12 years, with the help and expertise of volunteer tutors.

English as a Second Language (ESL) and Literacy for Life (LFL) are two of the centre's groups.

These groups will be hosting the morning tea from 10am to 12pm.

The ESL and LFL programs have assisted people from a diverse range of nationalities and backgrounds develop skills in English language and literacy.

ALW runs from September 1 to 8, with events across the country celebrating adult education and lifelong learning.

This year's theme is "What are you waiting for?", encouraging members of the community to try something new, such as a language or hobby.

Community members can join the morning tea and explore options with the centre as a learner or tutor.
