It has almost been one year since the community of Victor Harbor elected Mayor Moira Jenkins and the nine councillors.
Dr Jenkins and her team want to hear from the community that elected them on how they are performing.
Dr Jenkins will host a morning tea at the newly opened Coral Street Art Space on Thursday, September 19, from 10am to 11am, to provide a relaxed forum for the community to chat to their elected representatives.
"It's nearly been a year since we were elected to represent the community's views. I think it is really important for the council to check in with our residents and ratepayers and get their thoughts on how we are going," Dr Jenkins said.
"The morning tea is a chance for us to listen to our residents and get their perspective on what we are doing well and how we can do better. Holding the morning tea at the Coral Street Arts Space is also a chance for us to show off this new community space."
Dr Jenkins said the morning tea initiative was part of a broader commitment of the council to be more visible in the community.
"From the start of our term, all Elected Members have made a commitment to be more accessible to our community. The morning tea is just one way we can do this," Dr Jenkins said.
"I encourage the community to contact me or their elected members to discuss ideas or issues. We are here to represent you and want to involve you in our decision making as much as we can."
The Coral Street Art Space is located at 10 Coral Street. For more information visit www.victor.sa.gov.au or call 8551 0500.
